A family farm, custom-branded cowboy hats, Italian-inspired details, and a sunset over the Adirondack foothills. Adisyn and Liam’s wedding was a celebration of everything that makes their story uniquely theirs.
Some wedding days feel like stepping into someone else’s world for a little while. Adisyn and Liam’s wedding was exactly that—in the best possible way.
On a beautiful September afternoon, family and friends gathered at their private estate in Ellenburg Center, New York, for a wedding that felt less like a traditional venue celebration and more like being welcomed into the couple’s life. There were cowboy boots, custom hats, a sprawling reception tent, hay bales, a mechanical bull, and plenty of room for everyone to celebrate together.
But underneath all the Western flair was something even more meaningful: a couple who chose to celebrate their marriage in the place that means so much to them, surrounded by the people who helped make it home.
A Wedding Rooted in Home
Adisyn and Liam could have chosen just about anywhere to get married. Instead, they brought everyone to the family farm.
The property is more than a scenic backdrop. It's part of their everyday lives, complete with livestock, open fields, and wind turbines that reflect the farm's participation in renewable energy. It is a place where family traditions run deep, friendships grow over years of shared adventures, and life moves at its own pace.
For Adisyn, who has a lifelong love of horses, celebrating on the farm felt especially fitting. I'd first met her several years earlier when she rode her horse onto frozen Mirror Lake during the opening ceremonies of the Empire State Winter Games. That same adventurous spirit was woven throughout her wedding day.
The celebration took place on the highest point in Clinton County, giving the property a sense of openness that was perfect for a September wedding. The ceremony overlooked the field, while a massive reception tent welcomed guests for dinner, dancing, and a few surprises along the way.
Rather than transforming the property into something it wasn't, Adisyn and Liam leaned into what made it special. Family helped bring their vision to life, from the handmade ceremony arbor to the carefully considered reception details.
The result was a wedding that felt entirely their own.
Western Style with a Little Italian Flair
If there was one thing Adisyn and Liam's guests understood, it was the assignment.
Cowboy hats and boots were everywhere, and Adisyn was thrilled to see so many friends and family members embrace the Western dress code. The atmosphere was relaxed and festive, with everyone arriving ready to celebrate.
Adisyn and Liam brought their own personal touches to the look, too. Liam's Western style paired naturally with Adisyn's striking teal boots, a nod to the Italian-inspired details she wanted to weave into the day.
That combination of Western character and Italian influence made the aesthetic feel personal rather than themed. Earthy browns and tans, deep teal, and warm autumn tones complemented the landscape, while thoughtful details connected the celebration to the couple's shared identity.
Their custom A&L hats were especially meaningful. More than an accessory, the new brand represented the life they are building together—a tangible symbol of becoming a family and establishing something that belongs to them.
And then there was the hide.
The couple was excited about the rawhide element of their branding, adding another layer of Western character to a day already filled with personal details. During the celebration, the brand was brought to life in a moment that made the idea feel real, not just something they'd designed ahead of time.
It's the kind of detail I love photographing: something that looks great in a picture but means even more to the people in it.
The First Look and Private Vows
Before the guests arrived at the ceremony, Adisyn and Liam shared a first look with their goats as witnesses.
With the anticipation of the day building around them, this was a chance to slow down and be together before stepping into the celebration. After seeing one another, they exchanged private vows, creating a quieter moment amid a wedding day full of energy and activity.
I always appreciate when couples make room for moments like these. A wedding day can move quickly, especially when you're hosting a large gathering of family and friends. Having a few minutes to connect privately gives the day a different kind of rhythm.
Their first look also gave us time for portraits with their wedding party and family before the ceremony, leaving more space for them to enjoy the reception later.
A Ceremony in the Middle of the Field
At 4 p.m., guests gathered at the southern end of the field for the ceremony.
The setting was simple in the best sense of the word: open land, the surrounding countryside, and a handmade arbor created by a family member. The farm itself provided the backdrop, with the landscape stretching beyond the ceremony space.
There was something fitting about exchanging vows right there, in the middle of the property that has been part of their lives. No grand ballroom or elaborate backdrop was needed. The setting already told a story.
And because family was at the heart of the entire celebration, the handmade details carried extra meaning. The arbor wasn't simply a decoration. It was another example of the people closest to Adisyn and Liam contributing to a day they would remember for the rest of their lives.
After the ceremony, guests made their way into cocktail hour while the couple enjoyed the start of the next chapter of the celebration.
A Reception Built for a Proper Celebration
If the ceremony reflected the heart of the day, the reception showed off its personality.
The reception tent was enormous, with multiple peaks creating a dramatic space for dinner and dancing. A connected cocktail tent gave guests room to mingle before everyone gathered for the evening's festivities.
Inside, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Hay bales topped with wooden planks added to the rustic Western feel, while the rich colors and open layout made the space feel like an extension of the farm.
The evening began with Adisyn and Liam's first dance, followed by parent dances and a chance for family and friends to gather for portraits. Dinner was served buffet-style, keeping the atmosphere relaxed and giving everyone a chance to settle in and enjoy the evening.
Then came the toasts.
Stories about friendships, camping trips, practical jokes, and years of shared adventures brought plenty of personality to the room. The speeches offered a glimpse into the relationships that have shaped Liam's life and the friendships that continue to be part of it.
Those connections were easy to see throughout the day. Liam's close friendships with his coworkers, the involvement of extended family, and the number of relatives gathered to celebrate made this feel like a true family affair.
With more than a few hundred guests expected, there was no shortage of people ready to celebrate the newlyweds.
A Little Italian Tradition, Adirondack Sunset Included
As the evening approached, we kept an eye on the changing light.
September sunsets have a way of transforming the landscape, and this one did not disappoint. When the sky began to turn a soft cotton-candy pink, we tapped Adisyn and Liam on the shoulder and invited them outside for a few sunset portraits.
Their guests cheered as they stepped away from the reception, and the couple took in the view together. The wind turbines turned in the distance, the sky shifted through warm pastel colors, and for a few minutes, the energy of the reception gave way to something quieter.
It was one of my favorite moments of the day.
There was no elaborate production or complicated plan. Just the two of them, the landscape they love, and a little encouragement to step outside before the light disappeared.
Adisyn and Liam also brought an Italian-inspired touch to their cake cutting. Rather than treating it as just another reception tradition, they incorporated candles into the moment, creating a playful, romantic detail that tied back to the Italian influence woven throughout the wedding.
It's a reminder that the best wedding details don't have to fit neatly into one category. They can reflect different parts of a couple's lives and come together in a way that feels entirely natural.
The Mechanical Bull, the Golf Cart, and Everything In Between
Of course, no Western wedding on a family farm would be complete without a little adventure.
Adisyn and Liam brought in a mechanical bull, giving guests another way to get in on the fun. And as the evening continued, the newlyweds climbed on together for a ride of their own.
It was exactly the kind of moment that made the wedding feel like them: a little unexpected, a little wild, and surrounded by people who were happy to cheer them on.
The golf cart made another appearance, too.
For Adisyn and Liam, getting around in golf carts and side-by-sides is simply part of life on the farm. A ride together toward the end of the reception felt less like a staged wedding exit and more like the natural conclusion to a day spent celebrating at home.
Those moments are a big part of why I love documenting weddings at private estates and family properties. The setting allows couples to incorporate the things they genuinely enjoy, rather than fitting their personalities into a predetermined venue experience.
And at Adisyn and Liam's private estate, there was room for all of it: meaningful family traditions, thoughtful design, a sunset worth stepping away for, and a mechanical bull waiting for its next rider.
A Celebration That Felt Like Adisyn and Liam
Looking back, what stands out most about Adisyn and Liam's wedding isn't any single detail.
It's how naturally everything came together.
The Western style reflected their personalities. The custom A&L branding represented the life they are building together. The handmade details spoke to their family's involvement. The farm gave the entire celebration a sense of place, and the sunset offered a quiet reminder to pause and enjoy it all.
From the first look to the last hours of the reception, the day was filled with the kind of moments that can't be manufactured. They happen when couples are surrounded by their people, celebrating in a place that feels like home.
Adisyn and Liam, thank you for welcoming us into your celebration and giving us the chance to document a wedding with so much character, heart, and personality.
Here's to a lifetime of adventures together—and to always making room for a little fun along the way.
